Norbert Morandière was born in Alger, Algeria, and published his first comic pages in the magazine Falatoff in 1971, using the pseudonym Marcus. The next year, he assumed the pseudonym Norma, and began drawing for the publishing house Fleurus (in Djin and Formule 1) and the magazine Amis-Coop. In addition, he drew the western series 'Lord Remington' in Record. He joined the magazinen Pif Gadget in 1974, starting out with 'Le Chevalier Ensorcelé'. In 1975, he created the series 'Capitaine Apache', written by Roger Lécureux, which ran until 1986. In 1988, he took on the trilogy 'Souvenirs de la Pendule', written by Patrick Cothias.
